ABOUT HARBOURSIDEIT:

Harbourside Institute of Technology, one of Canada’s most technically advanced audio engineering schools, offers programs and courses in Audio Engineering and Music Production, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Music Business, Electronic Music Production and Advanced Recording Artist development. Located in the beautiful Harbourside district of North Vancouver, BC, the school has access to waterfront parks and enjoys a view of downtown Vancouver across the Burrard Inlet.

HIT is one of the few certified Pro Tools training schools in Canada and has one of the country’s only two Pro Tools experts, as well as a certified Ableton training instructor on staff. It is a highly specialized elite school that teaches within the environment of a world-class recording studio. Every student has a fully loaded workstation at their desk at all times – consisting of an iMac computer loaded with the latest Pro Tools software and plugins,  Ableton Live and McDSP professional plugins. Students receive a great deal of personal attention due to the small class sizes, the primary objective being to ensure that, by graduation, students have achieved the level of proficiency and confidence required to enter the world of professional recording and music production.

INSTRUCTORS:

All the HIT instructors are successful professionals currently active in all aspects of the audio industry – including: record production, electronic music production, game audio, sound design, post audio, movie scoring, songwriting, studio session performance, recording engineering, dj-ing, audio installations, recording studio construction, gear development and maintenance, artist development, record label management, marketing, live sound and live performance. The schools philosophy is based on the fact that it’s instructors are constantly growing and studying the new trends in this exciting industry, both by being out in the field and by staying on the cutting edge of audio technology – this giving rise to HIT having one of only two officially certified Pro Tools Experts in Canada and an Ableton certified instructor on staff.
