HIT Graduates and Instructors in the news:
David Badiuk, a graduate of the April ’09 class, has been a busy young man since leaving HIT. Working at Bakerstreet Studios, productions and remixes for Dexter Entertainment, writing songs and working in the studio with artists who are making waves : Alisha Pillay, Lamar Ashe, Miss Mercury and many others. Dave and another HIT graduate, Sheldon Zeigenhagel, have gone into partnership and moved into a production suite at Greenhouse Studios. All the staff and instructors of Harbourside wish them great success in their new venture.
Adam Rushton, a graduate of the Oct ’09 class, followed up on a job posting by his instructor Ken Cade for a volunteer sound tech at the Chinese Gardens.
He went for an interview and has been doing the sound at the concerts for the last few weeks and says he is having an awesome time with it.He requested that Ken keep him updated with any other job postings.
Our Electronic Music instructor, Sam Ryan, produced the new Krome album earlier in the year. Kronic Rock was released on Cordova Bay Records/Fontana August 10th, and their current single “TMZ” quickly jump to #29 on the Media Base National Rock Chart and have kicked off their national tour in Vancouver, taking them all the way to St. John’s, NFLD.
Allan Levy, audio engineering instructor, recently did the music, sound design and mix for a Greenpeace video “Go Beyond Oil”.
Tony Rudner, our Registrar, recently completed a song with Grammy Award winning, Songwriting Hall of Fame recipient and ASCAP President, Paul Williams. The track will be recorded this month at Harbourside Studios. Paul will be laying down the vocals in L.A. and the song will be mixed and mastered back in North Vancouver.
Congratulations to Mike Rogerson who recently became one of only two Pro Tools Experts in Canada.
Congratulations to Viviam Reyes and Nick Engwer on passing the Pro Tools 201 and 210 exams.

Pro Tools 101 covers basic Pro Tools principles, giving you what you need to complete a Pro Tools project, from initial set up to final mixdown. Whether your project involves recording of live instruments, MIDI sequencing of software synthesizers, or audio looping, this course will give you the basic skills to succeed.
Pro Tools 110 provides a more detailed look at the Pro Tools system. This three-day course covers all the key concepts and skills needed to operate a Pro Tools system.
