Pre-requisite: AEMP diploma program

A 6 month full spectrum Electronic Music Production diploma program, specializing in creating, recording, producing, live performance, and career development.

The main platform used is Ableton Live 9, but students also work in Pro Tools and have the opportunity to become certified in Pro Tools 101 and 110.

From concept through to barcode, students are fully immersed in the process of creating and releasing their own music, including, concept development, writing and composition, recording, mixing, mastering, branding, social media marketing, publicity, sales, traditional marketing, distribution and Live DJ / visual performance.

Ableton Live 9 Activate

Designed to introduce and immerse a student in Ableton Live’s unique workflow

ELECTRONIC MUSIC THEORY

Covers the fundamentals of music theory and explores the unique tools and approaches to making electronic music

MIDI, SYNTHESIS & SOUND DESIGN

“Beyond the preset” From the basics to designing your signature sound with advanced synthesis

PROTOOLS 101

This course covers basic Pro Tools principles. It provides everything you need to complete a Pro Tools project-from initial set up to final mixdown. The course focuses on Pro Tools software and covers a multitude of new functions and feature enhancements. Whether your project involves recording live instruments, MIDI sequencing of software synthesizers, or audio editing or region looping, this course will give you the basic skills to succeed.

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

PROTOOLS 110

This course provides a more detailed look at the Pro Tools system above and beyond the knowledge you gained in the Pro Tools 101 course. It covers all the key concepts and skills needed to operate a Pro Tools system at the User level. This course, along with the Pro Tools 101: An Introduction to Pro Tools, provides the foundation to Pro Tools User Certification and for the later 200-series of courses on Pro Tools music and post production.
