Tony Rudner

Tony has been in the audio industry for more than 35 years as a performer, recording artist, composer, session guitarist, producer, songwriter, recording engineer, record label executive and music publisher. He has produced  53 albums, composed the music for 29 feature films, hundreds of ads for radio and television, and 17 television shows, including two South African national hit series, No Jacket Required and Sgudi Snaysi. He also composed the opening theme for the London International Advertising Awards.

Tony has had a successful career as a live musician – He was the leader of the critically acclaimed, R&B Fusion band, “Sweet Ride”, which won the South African national jazz competition in 1984 and went on to record their debut album with EMI Records. More recently, he and fellow virtuoso guitarist, Andreas Schuld, formed the acoustic guitar duo, Schuld and Rudner.

Tony has recorded, written songs, and performed with many legendary artists, songwriters and musicians, both in South Africa and North America, including, Manfred MannPaul Williams, and Peter Sarstedt,  to name  a few. In addition to his achievements as a multi-award winning record producer, and  an EMI recording artist, he was a staff-songwriter for BMG and Zomba, co-writing songs with academy and grammy award winning songwriters. Tony is currently performing live, composing and producing music for feature films and television and working on records with some of the top session musicians in North America.


Brian Watson

Brian Watson is an industry veteran with over 20 years of hands-on experience in the business we call music. For the past 10 years he has been busy running the award winning artist management, label and music services company, Maximum Music Group. As the former marketing manager for Virgin Records, Brian had the honour of managing the promotional and marketing campaigns for superstar acts such as: The Rolling Stones, Janet Jackson and The Smashing Pumpkins. In addition, he spent some time working for SL Feldman & Associates as a national booking agent, where the acts he worked with included Sarah McLachlan, Bryan Adams and The Tragically Hip.

With over 100 albums to its credit Maximum’s roster has been recognized with 6 Juno Awards, 9 National Jazz Awards , 6 Western Canadian Music Awards, 5 Canadian “Indie” Music Awards and 3 Canadian Urban Music Awards.

Mike Rogerson

Mike Rogerson is the certified ProTools and Audio Engineering instructor at the Harbourside Institute of Technology. He is one of the only 2 Pro Tools experts in Canada and is also certified in the industry standard Avid’s Venue live sound systems.

Mike’s discography and live recording credits include: Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls, Snoop Dog, Gloria Estefan, Cyndi Lauper, Paul Stanley, Joe Walsh, Minnie Driver, Shelby Lynne and Canada’s super group, Chilliwack . His engineering talents on the “Chris Isaak Show” helped the series garner 2 Leo awards for best sound.

Mike worked on the theme song for the TV series “Corner Gas”, and continues to work as a professional audio engineer/mixer/producer and repeat seasonal audio tech for the Banff Television Festival and Theatre Under the Stars.

Sam Ryan

Sam Ryan is HIT’s resident Electronics Music Production and Ableton Instructor. He has produced and engineered along side some of the music industry’s most accomplished heavyweights including Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden).

Sam began his music career co-founding SOS Music, a Vancouver based music production company. Producing and engineering numerous CD and multimedia projects, he works with the newest technologies in digital audio, midi and sample based sequencing, combing his technical and artistic talents to fuse audio engineering with music production.

Sam is the quintessential, perpetual student of emerging technologies and it is no surprise that once he discovered the unique music production capabilities of Ableton Live, he made the trip to L.A., where he became one of the few Certified Ableton Trainers in Canada.

In addition, he continues to keep his hand in the world of live music performance with his group, Lionzgate, comprised of Sam and Harbourside IT  graduates, Keanna Arnason and Jarrett Plett.


Justin Aucoin

Justin is an award-winning sound designer and multi-award nominee. Justin’s passion for sound extends through a mosaic of experience and his love for creativity and sound are his core motivators.

He is the founder of Craft Cave Sound, a Vancouver-based boutique post-production facility providing inspired and tailored audio design, editing and mixing for indie film, television, advertising, web and new media.

He has also gained extensive experience as a live FOH Sound Engineer and Venue Technical Director and has worked with clients such as DiRTY RADiOCirque de SolielBallet BCPUSH Festival, alongside artists such as Carly Rae JepsonDragonetteK’naan; including the Whistler Ski & Snowboard, ViFF, NxNE and Canadian Music Week festivals.

As well as having worked in most technical areas of sound and audio, Justin is inspired and driven to educate and share this experience and knowledge in alignment to the many areas and specialties available in the field of audio production.

Justin was a recipient of the 2016 Leo Award for Best Overall Sound, for his sound design work on the feature film She Who Must Burn.

James Wallace

James Wallace is a multiple Emmy, Gemini and Leo Award Nominee. For the past 18 years he has been working in Audio Post production for film and television, with credits that include the Emmy nominated mini-series “Alice”, the Gemini nominated “Riverworld” and Leo Award winning Stargate SG1 television series.

James is an accomplished musician, recording engineer and composer and is consistently writing, performing, recording and mixing music, foley, sound effects and dialog. As his way of giving back, for the past 6 years, James has been facilitating the children’s music summer camp, Jamcamp, in the Okanagan Valley, BC and the Sunshine Coast.

Dakota Poncilius

Audio engineer and producer, Dakota Poncilius, knows how to make a recording studio tick. Harbourside Studio manager and founder of Dakota Poncilius Music, he works on any project that comes into the studio, but specializes in metal genres and drum production. Dakota’s list of recording and live sound credits include Hal Becket, Vince Renaud, Vancouver Film Orchestra, Vancouver Folk Festival, Harmony Arts Festival, Gearforce, Randal Stoll, and Norm Fisher to name a few. He is also an accomplished guitarist and has recently been seen on-stage playing guitar for 2014 Peak Performance finalist, Jodi Pederson.

Kerry Galloway

Kerry Galloway, bassist/producer/educator, has performed and recorded with a long list of industry legends, including kd lang and Randy Bachman. He has opened for Neil Young, Sarah McLachlan and Sheryl Crowe as well as having appeared on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and variety performances with Bob Hope. Other accolades include recording with hiphop stars “Sweatshop Union” and playing with the Paris-based New Noakes Quartet on their 14 European tours, where he featured as a soloist.

Mike Cerca

Mike has been DJing at the finest nightclubs, lounges, bars, and private parties in Vancouver, Toronto, Whistler, New York, and Europe, for the past 6 years.

John Sawa

Sound Editor, Sound Designer, Recording Engineer and Educator, John Sawa  is constantly exploring the world of audio and has been doing this most of his life.  In his words ” I have always been enthralled with anything and everything that makes cool noises.” This passion and drive is evident in his excitement, when discussing the process of audio production and the vast array of equipment available today to assist a producer in achieving a “state of the art” product.

John is an Emmy Award, Golden Reel & Leo Award Nominee and has vast experience and insight in the field of audio for feature films, TV, radio, video games, web content, and video production. Working with a global clientele from the Cayman Islands to Mexico City, the UK to Dubai John’s impressive list of credits include: Metallica’s Through The Never, The AMC hit series Hell on Wheels and The Discovery Channel’s Klondike just to name a few.

John is thrilled to share his ever growing knowledge and experience with the next generation of audio professionals.

Adrian Lock

Adrian Lock is the Vice President of National Radio Promotions and A&R at Reliant Music and Pitbull Radio Promotions Canada; a nationally recognized radio promotion firm targeting Canadian Top 40, Hot AC, Rock and Country radio formats.

His clients include Paul Oakenfold, Smash Mouth, Carly Rae Jepsen, Emerson Drive, Hanson, Bif Naked and his label clients include 604 Records/Universal, Warner Music Canada, former EMI Music Canada, Fontana North, Curve/Sony, eOne Music Canada and Aquarius Records.

Adrian also holds a Bachelor Of Music degree from Capilano University and a Recording Arts degree from the Art Institute Of Vancouver.

Chris Behnke

Chris is a working DJ with over 16 years of experience in the club and mobile industries.
His passion for music and gear resulted in him working for Pioneer DJ for the past 13 years, where he was initially a member of their web support team, and has since taken on the roles of Product Specialist and International Trainer.
He has travelled the world extensively, sharing his expertise with beginners to top rated international touring DJs and festival production teams.

Don Striez

Don Striez has been working in the audio industry, in the field of audio electronics and installations for the past 22 years. He has built, wired and set up major recording studios, theatres, live shows and audiovisual systems around the world. Don has been fortunate enough to work alongside some of the greats, including legendary studio builder John Vrtacic, U2, Bone Thugs and Harmony, Jim Belushi, Britney Spears, Ricky Martin, Elton John, Korn, Sarah McLaughlin and Green Day.

Brayden Dyczkowski

An active member of the Canadian music scene for over 15 years, Brayden specializes in Modern Vocal Production and Songwriting techniques, combining the strengths of both the Pro Tools and Ableton platforms.
He is a graduate of both Royal Roads University and the Harbourside Institute of Technology  and has been making a name for himself in Vancouver as a go-to producer of genres ranging from Dance Pop to Death Metal and everything in between.

Brayden is a founding member of the internationally acclaimed Power Metal band, Unleash The Archers, who recently inked a deal with Napalm Records.

Cam Boyer

Cam Boyer is a graduate of both the Audio Engineering and the Advanced Recording Arts programs at Harbourside IT. Sometime before he completed his studies, he became a sort after recording/mixing engineer and music producer with ever increasing demand for his services. He is the founder of Cam Boyer Music and Productions with credits in film and television, live sound and record production, including :  Empire, Dear One, Paper Trails, Lethal Halo, Tyler Skyy and a TV Jazz Christmas special.

Ron Irving

Ron Irving is a veteran Canadian Songwriter with over 100 songs recorded worldwide, in six languages. Ron’s songs have been recorded by Anne Murray, Michael Bublé, Lee Greenwood, The Statler Brothers, Asian superstar Jacky Cheung, South African Idol Anke, Germany’s Pop band “Trademark”, Lisa Brokop, Amanda Stott, Karen Lee Batten and numerous others. His “Holdin’ Out For A Hero” recorded by Danish artist, Wenche, brought Ron home a Gold record! Many of his songs have been used in feature films, TV series, song folios, TV Commercials, karaoke and ring tones.

Davey Badiuk

Davey is a young, in demand, electro pop producer with singles for Karl Wolf, Craig Smart, Suzie McNeil, Rosette, Cory Lee and Kuba Oms under his belt. More recently, he paired up with Dragonette’s Dan Kurtz to produce their new single Live In This City. His work on Dragonette’s album “Bodyparts” led to a Juno Nomination for Dance Recording of the Year.

Some of Davey’s recent achievements include, working on tracks for Icona Pop, a Swedish DJ and Synthpop Super Duo who’s song I love it is a worldwide hit, and a Tegan & Sara remix for the song Closer.

Boris Drazic

Boris Drazic is a Musician, Audio and Electronic Engineer, who came to Vancouver in 1996, after managing to leave his home country, Bosnia, that was in a constant state of civil war.  After graduating from Technical High School and University in Bosnia, he spent many years as a College Instructor.  In addition to setting up his own recording studio and starting the first private radio station in Bosnia he performed as a live musician. In 2010, Boris and his good friend and band mate, Zoran Todorovic,  started a company called Sonic Farm Audio, which produces high end tube recording equipment. Their flagship microphone pre-amp, the Creamer, was nominated for a “Pro Audio Review” technical excellence award in 2012 and has been used by many famous recording artists, including, Lady Gaga and Lady Antebellum.
